NEW MIDDLETOWN - Leon G. Simonoff, 82, died at 6:10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at the Masternick Memorial Health Care Center in New Middletown.
He was born Jan. 23, 1932, in Youngstown, the son of George and Armena Julikian Simonoff.
Leon served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation as an inspector and supervisor, and was a member of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church in Campbell.
Survivors include his wife, the former Shake' I. Afarain; a son, George of Pierpont; a daughter, Sonia Streb of Hubbard; two grandsons; and a sister, Helen Pavlov of Youngstown.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Byzantine Church in Campbell.
