HERMITAGE, Pa. - The Rev. Thomas E. Armstrong, 67, of Lyle Drive, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, after an extended battle with lung cancer at Sharon Regional Health System, where he was in hospice care.
He was born Oct. 7, 1946, in Hastings, Mich., the son of Myrl Eugene and Bernice Springer Armstrong.
Rev. Armstrong retired from the Upper Ohio Valley Presbytery as the stated clerk.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Brest Willison; two sons, David Armstrong of Pittsburgh and Steve Armstrong of Tamarac, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Eva Drobezko and Amy Mendicino; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First Westminster Presbyterian Church in Steubenville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Dinner will be served immediately following the service for all in attendance.
