WARREN - City fire crews were called to douse flames at two vacant houses early this morning.

Warren Fire Chief Ken Nussle said both fires are under investigation. No injuries were reported in either incident.

Firefighters were called to the first fire at 12:31 a.m. at a house that was under renovation at 1216 Buena Vista Ave. N.E.

Nussle said the damage estimate is about $10,000 and the house is owned by Ed Hecker of Cortland.

He said the fire damaged the first and second floors of the structure and burned out the stairwell.

Fire crews were called out a second time around 4:14 a.m. to a two-story house at 310 S. Leavitt Road S.W. corner of

Warren Township Fire Department was initially called out to that blaze and was the first on scene, but notified Warren city that the house was actually within city limits, Nussle said. He confirmed that the fire consumed that house, owned by James Duncan, whose current address was not available.
