CHURCH HOSTS SKATING EVENT: Agape Assembly Church, 426 Nevada Ave. S.W., Warren, is hosting a Fall Gospel Skate from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Champion Rollarena, 5040 Mahoning Ave, Champion. The ninth annual event has free admission to all participants with skate rental.

MOBILE MEALS PLANS EVENT: Trumbull Mobile Meals will hold its annual basket extravaganza, "Denim and Diamonds," on Nov. 9 at the Packard Music Hall.
The evening will feature 100 silent auction baskets of various themes, each containing a blue cubic zirconium. One basket winner will be able to trade their zirconium for a pair of $3,200 blue and white diamond earrings at the end of the evening.
Twelve food vendors will provide their food specialties.
ROTARY DISTRIBUTES DICTIONARIES: The Hubbard Rotary Club recently celebrated its eighth annual Dictionary Project with the distribution of nearly 200 new dictionaries at third-grade classes at Hubbard Elementary and St. Patrick's Elementary School in Hubbard. To help promote literacy, the annual project provides students in the community with personal dictionary of their own.

AUSTINTOWN KICKS OFF ROBOTICS: Austintown Fitch Local Schools FIRST Robotics Team, Falco Tech finished second in the Ohio State FRC Championship last month in Cincinnati. The team is sponsored by TaylorWinfield Corporation and Delphi. They competed in this year's game challenge "Ultimate Ascent," where teams are challenged to build a robot that can shoot Frisbees into 10-foot high goals both autonomously and while under the control of student drivers. At the end of the match, teams receive additional points if their robot can climb a 90 inch-tall pyramid structure near the center of the field.
