Sat 11:20 am: Shooting victim named

WARREN - Sources have confirmed the identity of a man shot by a Warren police officer early this morning.

Taemarr Walker, 24, most recently of Homewood Ave. S.E., Warren, was killed about 2 a.m. outside a vehicle at the intersection of Risher Road and Palmyra Road S.W. in a remote area of the city.

The name of the officer involved in the shooting has not yet been released. The shooting occurred when a police officer confronted Walker and indicated that he had a weapon, according to police scanner traffic. Further details of what transpired have not yet been released.

Walker has a lengthy criminal record. He was most recently released from Trumbull County Jail Oct. 11 after a grand jury failed to indict him on a charge of felonious assault and aggravated robbery.

Warren Police have scheduled a press conference for 2 p.m. today.
