With the turning of the leaves, the end of the year is coming into sight. It also is a time begin reflecting on blessings, and seeing for whom and what we are thankful.
The Tribune Chronicle is continuing its tradition of providing a platform for expressing gratitude with the annual Giving Thanks submissions. Whether it's the unseasonably warm weather, the encouragement of family or a life changing event, readers are encouraged to submit their reasons to be thankful.
"Usually during this season, we'll share these things from one friend to another or around the dinner table, but this gives the opportunity to let the entire community know about things they are thankful for," said Sue Shafer, Tribune Chronicle events coordinator.
"It's also a great opportunity to encourage teens and children to have an attitude of gratitude you have to develop that."
Submissions will be published in the newspaper the week of Thanksgiving.
Forms for writing thanks will be published from time to time in the Tribune Chronicle in the coming weeks. Fill out the coupon, attach a separate piece of paper with your reason and mail it to the newspaper, Attn: Giving Thanks, 240 Franklin St. S.E., Warren OH 44483. Please limit your submission to 25 words.
For those who feel more comfortable submitting thanks electronically, they can be done at Tribune Chronicle's Virtual Newsroom at www.tribtoday.com, by clicking on ''VNR: submit your news,'' and going to the Giving Thanks category. Or they can be submitted by email your submission to firstname.lastname@example.org.

Local schools who wish to participate this year are encouraged to send student submissions electronically. You can submit up to 25 words per student. After each submission, please list the student's name and grade. Also include the name of the school and community.
