HOWLAND - Helen Capito, 71, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.
She was born June 17, 1942, in Warren, the daughter of John and Evaline Apostolakis.
She had attended Warren G. Harding High School.
Helen was a member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church and was a devoted Greek Orthodox Christian and supporter of the church.
She enjoyed singing, dancing, baking and cooking. Helen had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with her husband, family, grandchildren and her dog, Cocoa.
She is survived by her husband, John M. Capito, whom she married Feb. 25, 1962; three children, Michael J. Capito, Evangeline Capito-McDade and Denise (David) Delida all of Warren; four grandchildren, Kasey H. McDade, Rachel, Luke and Pete Delida; a sister, Georgia Pantelas of Warren; a godson, John G. Apostolakis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Apostolakis; three sisters, Mary Spanos, Gladys Mavros and Anastasia G. "Tessie" Ahladis; and a stepfather, Sam Yoannidis.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday with a 6 p.m. Trisagion, and from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warren.
