WARREN - Mildred M. Walker, 91, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Windsor House in Champion.
She was born April 12, 1922, in Warren, the daughter of the late Glenn and Hazel Chaffee Mathews.
She married Paul L. Walker Sr. on July 20, 1940, and shared 71 years together.
She was a graduate of Chalker High School in Southington and was a homemaker. Mildred was the first president of the Southington Fire Auxiliary, and in her younger years, she was very active in the community.
Loving memories of Mildred will be carried on by her daughters, Rellajeanne (Ray) Cook of Southington and Dawn (Dana) Srbinovich of Warren; sons, Paul L. (Doreen) Walker Jr. of Caledonia and Glenn T. (Jackie) Walker of Lacey, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald L. Mathews of Mississippi; and sister, Doris Jean Pearce of Southington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul L. Walker Sr., who passed away Sept. 29, 2011; sisters, Virginia Mathews and Margaret Novak; and brother, Glenn Mathews Jr.
Services will be held noon Friday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Rev. David Black will officiate. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at the funeral home.
Mildred will be laid to rest in Southington Graham Cemetery, Southington.
