NEWTON FALLS - Mike Palo, 88, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2013, at his home after a long illness.
He was born Feb. 19, 1925, the son of Mike and Mary Stehnei Pelo in Newton Falls.
He married Wilma Riggle on Jan. 20, 1943, and they were married for 70 years.
Mike worked 30 years as a molder at Ideal Foundry and Republic Steel in maintenance. He was also a minister of Jehovah's Witnesses for 54 years as a member of the Newton Falls Congregation.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma; daughters, Connie Palo and Wendy Randall; sister, Margaret Phile; brother, Steve Pelo; and three grandchildren, Melissa Palo and Jonathan Palo of East Palestine and Rachael Snider of Wyoming.
Preceding Mike in death were his parents; son, Martin Palo; brothers, Joseph, George, Frank, Andrew and Charles; and sisters, Marie Scott and Ann Koroseck.
A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the Newton Falls Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall, 300 Bandor Road.
The Borowski Memorial Home is handling the arrangements.
