Mon. 7pm: Hubbard man sues 40 in honking case

WARREN - A Hubbard man, who says he has been the target of a 42-month-long honking harassment campaign, has sued 40 people he claims are inflicting intentional emotional distress on him and his wife.

The suit was filed late Friday by Garrick G. Krlich and his wife, Lucinda, of East Liberty Street.

Krlich names 40 defendants in the suit that seeks more than $25,000 in damages and was assigned to Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Peter Kontos.

Krlich said he has spent thousands of dollars to fight the problem in the courts, and even started his own website to display official police reports and civil protection orders he routinely filed in several courts.

He claims that the honking began following a real estate dispute between himself and former Eagle Joint Fire District Chief John Clemente Jr. Krlich said that after he placed a bid on the house next door to him - where a relative of Clemente's lived until her death - Clemente threatened that he and Krlich would be "enemies for life" if Krlich did not withdraw the bid.
