NILES - Lucy E. Prokop, 89, passed away Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013, at her daughter's residence.
Lucy was born July 8, 1924, in Warren, the daughter of Frank and Eda Cuccio.
She retired as the assistant director of food service for the Warren City Schools after 35 years.

Lucy was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Ladies Guild of the Church and St. Benedict's Auxiliary.
She enjoyed participating in church activities, especially making kolachi.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia James of Niles and Mary Jo (Martin) Dunlap of Hartville; one son, Larry (Pam) Prokop of Cincinnati; three grandchildren, Jeffrey (Ellen) James, Lisa Appod and Valerie Dunlap; two great-grandchildren, Audrey and Austin; and a brother, John S. "Jack" (Mary Jane) Cuccio of Sarasota, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Prokop, whom she married May 13, 1947, and who passed away April 29, 1995; son-in-law, Tom James; sister, Mary Ann Fabrizio; brother, Samuel Curcio; and a sister-in-law, Toni Curcio.
Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, with a 4:30 p.m. rosary service and a 7 p.m. Parastas service, and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Peter Rossi and Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren with the Rev. Andrew Deskevich officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
