NILES - Longtime Niles and Trumbull County community leader and volunteer Fred Kubli is the 2013 recipient of the William Clayman Community Pride Award from the Niles Area Business Council of the Regional Chamber.
Kubli, who came to the Niles area 55 years ago and was a longtime employee at RMI Titanium, has been involved with Friends of McKinley Library and the former Niles Area Chamber of Commerce.
He was board member at Shepherd of the Valley during a time of aggressive growth and strategic planning and was instrumental in the statue of Jesus and donation plaques made of titanium steel that stand in the front lobby of the facility.
He also served on numerous local volunteer boards, commissions and was a former commander and now adjutant of William McKinley American Legion Post 106 in Niles.
The Clayman award recognizes business ethics, professionalism, character, integrity and service along with community involvement in the Niles area.
