FOWLER HOSTS ANTIQUE CAR / TRACTOR SHOW: Fowler Township Historical Society will hold its 11th annual antique car and tractor show from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the center green, state Routes 193 and 305. The event is a fundraiser for the historic Butts Family Museum which will be open during the event. The event will include musical entertainment, Chinese auction, auction drawing at 3 p.m., and 50-50 raffle.
FAMILY FUN DAY SET: The seventh annual free Family Fun Day and bookbag giveaway will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Tod Park in Girard. The event will include games, clowns, face painting and food. Children who need a bookbag and school supplies can sign up and get a number. The bookbags will be distributed after 3 p.m. The event is held to remember the memories of Lena Cross and her children Mason Cross and Christian Pizzulo who died in September 2005.
RUN TO HELP ILL CHILDREN: The seventh annual Santa PokerRun to help terminally ill children and their families will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pooch's, 2242 Greenville Road, Mecca. The event is being sponsored by Santa's Bad Elves and will include Chinese auction, entertainment and bike games. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon with bike blessing at 10:30 a.m. Proceeds will go to Santa's Hide Away Hollow for terminally ill children and their families who want to spend one last Christmas together any time of the year. MARKET SET: The North Side Farmers Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday by First Unitarian Universalist Church in Youngstown. Local items from area farmers will be sold.
CHARITY EVENT TO BE HELD: The third annual charity softball tournament will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Waddell Park in Niles to benefit the Tyler Platt Fight Strong Foundation. OPEN HOUSE SET: The Barnhisel House, 1011 N. State St., Girard, will hold an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Costumed greeters will welcome visitors and take them on a tour of two stories of the home that was razed primarily from its foundation. EVENT TO COLLECT FOOD ITEMS: River Rock at the Amp will be helping to feed hungry families collecting non-perishable food items at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Warren Community Amphitheatre. Items collected will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank. Those who bring a non-perishable food item or make a monetary donation at the gate will receive a raffle ticket for a guitar autographed by Michael Stanley and a chance to win two tickets to the Michael Stanley concert on Oct. 12 at the W.D. Packard Music Hall.
