STRUTHERS - An industrial piping company that has been operating in Struthers for several months will dedicate its plant and host a ceremonial ribbon cutting today.
Oklahoma-based Industrial Piping Specialists, or IPS, expects to employ about 60 workers at the facility in the CASTLO Industrial Park on Bridge Street here, according to information released by the Regional Chamber. The company warehouses and distributes carbon and stainless pipe and other products used in the oil and gas industry. The products are used in midstream processing, transmission, fabrication and general construction industries, according to information on the company's website.
The company chose the 55,000-square-foot Struthers location because of the proximity to IPS's current customer base and development incentives coordinated by the Regional Chamber and the CASTLO Community Improvement Corporation, the Chamber said in a prepared statement.
IPS has been in business since 1986 and operates other warehouse facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Wyoming and Colorado.
CASTLO Industrial Park is situated on 120 acres in downtown Struthers. With a recently acquired $5 million Jobs Ready Site Grant from the Ohio Development Services Agency, the industrial park is in a period of transformation. The park is managed by CASTLO Community Improvement Corporation, a non-profit organization that works to attract industry and prospective employers to the region.
