WARREN - Members of Mind, Body and Soul and other local groups are working on a Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Fair to be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Warren Courthouse Square park.
The event will include a Pinewood Derby, cornhole science, robotics demonstrations and music.
Ken Pugh, a program coordinator for STEM, said the event will focus on encouraging children to go into science and technology fields and include various outdoor hands-on activities, displays and speakers.
"This is our inaugural year. We want this to be an interactive, family-friendly event," he said.
Exhibitors will present STEM activities to youth and families, with the main attraction to be NASCAR-style go-kart building and racing.
Troy Woods of Mind, Body and Soul said scouts and other residents are encouraged to bring their Pinewood Derby cars. Races will be held at 4 p.m. that day.
