WATKINSVILLE, Ga. - Nathan James Terpin, 18-year-old son of Jim and Shari Terpin, died Sunday, Aug. 11, 2013.
He was born Jan. 25, 1995, in Gainesville, Fla.
Nathan was an active member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church for many years and was relied on for his audio and visual technology skills.
He was a vital part of the children's and high school ministries in this capacity. Most recently, he served as a children's camp counselor. Nathan was also a sound technician with Cornerstone Productions / Overlook Sound.
Nathan was a 2013 graduate of Oconee County High School and was the sousaphone section leader in the Oconee County High School Marching Band.
He served as a sound technician and was an important part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization.
In his spare time, Nathan enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross at University of Georgia events. He also was a licensed ham radio operator.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include four siblings, Bethany, Joshua, Isaac and Robert; his great-grandmother, Ruth Spears, all of Watkinsville; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Prince Avenue Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince Avenue Baptist Church or the American Red Cross.
