ELLSWORTH SCHOOL REUNION: The 79th annual Ellsworth School Reunion will be held Aug. 3 at the Ellsworth VFW Hall, located on Ellsworth Road, Ellsworth Township. A covered dish lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.

FALLS REUNION CELEBRATED: The Newton Falls Schoolmates and Friends 94th Reunion was celebrated June 15, 2013, at DeVieste's Banquet Room in Warren with 374 persons in attendance. Welcoming the schoolmates were Class of 1964 members Connie Swartz Ansley, Jenny Gordon Clark, Diane Winters Coss, Kathy Rudolph Fowler, Jackie Hrenko Kanaan, Kathy Kezele Lewis and Louise and Wendell Montgomery.
The board awarded four $500 college scholarships to graduating Newton Falls seniors Jarred Crowder, Andrew Ferguson, Abigail Harrah and Dale Kernen.
Retired teachers, school nurses, and school staff present were introduced and thanked for their service and their presence.
Jenny Gordon Clark introduced and roasted the honored class of 1963. Six schoolmates were given special recognition from 1930 through 1944 - Robert Elmore, Dick Glass, Bea Lamport, Jean Lewis, Lucille Moore and Al Sipka.
The most recent graduate in attendance was Josh Chicko. The most classmates present were from 1960 to 1969.
Winners of the "Keeper of the Town Pump" this year were Pat and Steve Kennedy.
Classmate traveling the farthest was Art Monteville from Honolulu. The family with the most members present was the Jewell family with 10 members.
Evelyn Ballas was honored with the position of trustee emeritus for her years of service to the association.
Trustees reelected were Linda Bennight, Mary Margaret Hildack, Jim Paisley, Tom Palmer, Megan Perrine, Merial Price and Gary Stefaniak. Members elected Diane Winters Coss to the board representing the class of 1964 and Judy Gensburg representing the class of 1965.
Next year's reunion will be held June 14, 2014, at DeVieste's in Warren.
