HOWLAND - Donald Fred Waltemire, 76, passed away Monday, July 22, 2013, at his residence.
He was born April 29, 1937, in Indiana County, Pa., the son of John and Mary Uncapher Waltemire.
Donald married Judy Culver July 10, 1981.
He was a graduate of Pine Township High School in Heilwood, Pa., a U.S. Navy veteran, having served from 1956 to 1962, and worked on radar.
He retired from GM Fab Plant in 1999 after 29 years of service and worked at a sawmill prior to GM.
Donald enjoyed woodworking, watching the Steelers, cowboy movies, going to casinos and spending time with his family.
Donald is survived by his wife, Judith; sisters, Peg (Arthur) Hutchinson of Nolo, Pa., and Maxine (Lido) Tonelli of Stow; brother, Bill (Martha) Waltemire of Ebensburg, Pa.; sons, Tim Waltemire of Hubbard, Rick (Kelly) Waltemire of Austintown, Jeff (Carol) Waltemire of Burghill, Joe (Karen) Waltemire of Hubbard, John Banks of Cortland and Tom (Mimi) Long of Southington; daughters, Karen (Bud) Carpenter of Niles and Bobbie Jo (Roger) Parson of Austintown; 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James and Ray Waltemire.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. until service time. Pastor Dave Coxson will officiate.
Burial will take place in Howland Township Cemetery.
