NEWTON FALLS - The village electric department's largest energy customer will be honored this morning for highly efficient operations.
Officials from Newton Falls and the Efficiency Smart program will present Venture Plastics with the "Ambassador of Efficiency Award" at the company's facility at 4000 Warren Road.
"Venture Plastics is our largest customer and has been progressive in its approach to managing energy usage," said Tracy Reimbold, Newton Falls Finance Director. She said the company is a "leading example in our community of what can be achieved through energy efficiency measures."
The Columbus-based Efficiency Smart program, established by American Municipal Power for member communities like Newton Falls, encourages energy efficiency through rebates, technical assistance and financial incentives.
As a result of the project, Venture Plastics is expected to save 386 mega-watt hours of energy annually translating to $37,200 annual and $546,500 over the lifetime of the installed measures, according to information released by the village. The net project cost was reduced by $15,925 with incentives from Efficiency Smart.
