HOWLAND - George J. Arnas, 86, beloved husband, brother, father and grandfather passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013, at his home in Howland.
George will be dearly missed by all.
He was born Dec. 9, 1927, in Kattavia, Rhodes, Greece, the son of John George and Poulkeria Tsalakoury Arnas. At the age of 18 he moved to the United States and lived in Weirton, W.Va., for 10 years where he worked at Nick's Bakery.

George graduated from Duff's Business College in Pittsburgh. He then was employed by Freuhauf Trailer Co.where he served as office manager in Pittsburgh and Girard for over 40 years.
He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
George was a devoted member of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Warren, where he enjoyed the company of many friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary; two daughters, Rita (Joe) Arnas Cwikla of Tallmadge and Jo-Anne (Kenneth) Hipkins of Parma; four grandchildren, Alexis, Nicholas, Casandra and Alexandra; and his brother, Apostolo Romano Arnas of Milan, Italy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John George and Poulkeria Tsalakoury Arnas; and two brothers, Alex and Anastasis.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday with a 5 p.m. Trisagion service and from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel in Warren.
Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church with the Rev. Constantine Valantasis officiating.
Burial will be in Howland Township Cemetery, Howland.
