Tribune Chronicle |

Weathersfield Township police are warning motorists to beware of a man impersonating a police officer.

A motorist told police Monday that she was pulled over between 8:30 and 8:45 p.m. in the area of Salt Springs Road and Interstate 80 by a man impersonating a police officer.

The car was light blue, with a bubble-shaped flashing light on the dash, she said.

The fake officer was described as white male around six feet tall with light brown hair and dressed in a dark blue uniform.

The man let the woman go, but followed her through Girard, police said.

Weathersfield police are asking that anyone with information to notify their local police department or the Weathersfield department at 330-652-6486.
