CAMPBELL - Members of the Campbell Education Association will attend tonight's meeting at the Board of Education to discuss contract negotiations.

The board issued a last or best offer to the CEA on June 28 after two sessions with a federal mediator did not result in an agreement.

The teachers, whose contract expired June 30, have been in negotiations with the district since March.

Superintendent Tom Robey said the main sticking points involve finances.

CEA Crisis Committee spokesperson Colleen Joss said educators will attend tonight's board meeting in an attempt to persuade the board to reconsider the last or best offer and go back to the negotiating table.

Robey said the board did not receive a response to its June 28 offer and is more than willing to meet with the CEA.
