WARREN - Melissa M. Barner, 37, formerly of Vienna, passed away late Monday evening, July 8, 2013, in the ICU at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Melissa was born Nov. 25, 1975, in Youngstown, the daughter of Richard W. Barner Jr. and Debra D. Lazorishak Bell-Barner.
She was a 1994 graduate of Mathews High School, where she had been a cheerleader and served as class president before going on to further her education and graduate from Youngstown State University.
Melissa was passionate about nutrition and caring for others' needs while working as a nutritionist for Cracker Barrel Restaurant.
She was full of life and could always be counted on to make others laugh with her. She was a devoted fan of both the Cleveland Browns and the Indians, and had also adored her late beloved dog, Lady.
She leaves behind her mother, Debbie Lazorishak, and her stepfather, Frank, of Key Largo, Fla.; her longtime companion, David Hall of Warren; sister, Kimberly A. (Christopher) Judge, and her daughter, Sarah Belle of Chicago; brother, Richard W. (Florence) Barner III, and his daughter, Elise Marie of Pompano Beach, Fla.; as well as several aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends and family may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Madasz Chapel of Lane Family Funeral Homes at 6923 Warren-Sharon Road, Brookfield, OH 44403.
A Celebration of Life service in Melissa's honor will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday morning at Pleasant Valley Church, 2055 Pleasant Valley Road, Niles, OH 44446, with Pastor John Wiseman officiating.
In honor of Melissa, the family suggests that contributions be made to Water for Life in care of LIFE Outreach International, P.O. Box 982000, Fort Worth, TX 76182-8000.
