YOUNGSTOWN - City police are investigating as a homicide the death of a man whose body was discovered early today at his home on the city's South Side.

Police were called to a home in the 300 block of East Florida Avenue about 4 a.m.

The man has been identified as 36-year-old Roosevelt Cooper III.

Police said they learned about Cooper's death from a man they arrested earlier on an unrelated charge. That man led them to Cooper's home.

That man isn't facing charges related to Cooper's death.

Although initial reports indicated Cooper had been shot, police said they are waiting on results of the Mahoning County Coroner's investigation to determine how and when Cooper died.
