AUSTINTOWN -- Ohio State Highway Patrol Southington Post Trooper Jason Fantone, previously terminated and then rehired, is scheduled to appear in Mahoning County Court in Austintown this morning after township police arrested him Monday night for drunken behavior.
Austintown police found Fantone sleeping inside an idling vehicle after being escorted from Buffalo Wild Wings because he was highly intoxicated, according to police reports. He accused of making derogatory comments about Austintown police, swinging his arms and asking to be arrested after officers woke him up.
Police cited Fantone for driving under the influence.
Fantone was fired in 2011 for actions unbecoming of an officer after he was belligerent with stadium security at a Cleveland Browns game and later damaged a jail cell.
