Report: Bicyclist hit by vehicle in Howland
HOWLAND - Emergency crews were called to East Market Street and Route 82 this morning after an individual on a bicycle was hit by a vehicle, according to reports.
Police scanner traffic indicated there were no serious injuries. However, witnesses said the bicyclist was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital.
No further information was immediately available.
Police confiscate drugs in Columbiana raids
WELLSVILLE - Police raided two homes on Clark Avenue Wednesday morning, confiscating marijuana plants at one and heroin in the other, police said.
The Columbiana County Drug Task Force, Wellsville Police Department and the Columbiana County Sheriff's Department served two search warrants.
The first at 1718 Clark Ave. netted 19 marijuana plants.
The second warrant was served at 1825 Clark Ave., where no one was home during the search. Along with a small amount of heroin, agents found suspected drug paraphernalia and packing materials, which were all seized, police said.
In both cases, charges are reportedly pending, Wellsville police Chief Joe Scarabino said.
Woman hurt on carnival ride in Newton Falls
NEWTON FALLS - A 29-year-old woman was injured on a carnival ride Wednesday in Newton Falls.
According to reports, the woman was riding the ride when the seatbelt came loose, and she was tossed around inside the ride's basket.
The woman was transported by ambulance to a local hospital. An update on her condition was not immediately available.
Report:?Garage catches fire in Leavittsburg
LEAVITTSBURG - A structure fire required the assistance of several area departments late Thursday night, as crews fought to contain the blaze.
The initial call came in at 9:55 p.m. for a fire in a garage at 473 Bechtel Road.
Fire departments in Warren Township, Champion and Braceville worked to put out the flames, officials with the 911 center said.
The Trumbull County Fire Investigating Unit is expected to investigate for a cause, officials said.
