AUSTINTOWN SOCIETY PLANS EVENT: The Austintown Historical Society will hold the 37th annual Fourth of July ecumenical service at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Austin Log Cabin, 3797 S. Raccoon Road, Austintown. The program starts with a flag raising ceremony. Guest speaker is the Rev. Russell Adams of Western Reserve United Methodist Church. A breakfast will be held and there will be live bands from 4:30 to 10 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m. at the township park.
TUTORIAL PROGRAM OFFERED: A tutorial program called I Got It is being offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays starting today for children in kindergarten to sixth grade. There will be free tutoring in various subjects and refreshments will be provided. The program is being held at the TCAP building, 1230 Palmyra Road, Warren. HANDS ON HISTORY: The Mahoning Valley Historical Society Arms Museum , 648 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will hold its weekly Hands on History'' open houses for children from 2 to 4 p.m. each Wednesday through Aug. 14. Each week will be a different theme including the Fourth of July, the Civil War, Native Americans and pioneers. Activities will include arts and crafts, games, toys, artifacts and dress-up clothing. CHURCH TO HOST OUTREACH: Niles First Baptist Church will hold its freezer pop outreach at 9:15 p.m. Thursday in downtown Niles prior to the city's annual fireworks display at 10 p.m. off State Street.
WELLNESS DAY: The Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership and Walgreens will hold their second annual Happy and Healthy Wellness Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Walgreens parking lot, 2560 Belmont Ave., Youngstown. The Wellness AARP Tour Bus which will provide free screenings and tests to adults 18 and older. Various free health tests will be offered in addition to live entertainment, a bounce house, a dunk booth, raffles, ticket giveaways, certificates, gift baskets and games.
