PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Gino Felix Gizzi, 89, passed from this earthly life Friday, Aug. 10, 2012.
He was born to Giuseppe and Lucia Gizzi Sept. 2, 1922, in New Castle, Pa.
Gino is survived by his wife, Lillian; sister, Victoria Beynon; brother, Ronald of Vienna; niece, Mavis (David) Palmer of Kent; nephews, Ronald (Mary) of Waldwick, N.J., Mark (Beth) of Mexico City, Zane (Melissa) of Elizabethtown, Pa., and Keith (Cara) of Plymouth, Mass.; their children; Ronald's grandson and several cousins.
He was predeceased by a sister, Sylvia Dickey in 1995 in Windsor, Mo.
Gino was a nose gunner and bombardier on a B-24 Liberator of the Mighty Eighth Air Force based in England in World War II. He received a business degree from Westminster College under the G.I. Bill. He was office manger at Anchor Motor Freight at the Lordstown Complex. He retired to Florida.
A committal service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Vienna Township Cemetery for his ashes.
Pastor Woody Cavender of Maranatha Church will bring a message of truth.
The American Legion Honor Guard will pay tribute to Gino for his service to our country.
