BOARDMAN - Carmine L. Cassese, 57, formerly of Youngstown, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013, at his home from complications due to cancer.
Carmine was born July 30, 1955, in Youngstown, the son of Joseph L. and Carmela G. Cassese.
He was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and Ohio State University.
He retired as head equipment manager of the Athletic Department at Youngstown State University and worked at his family's restaurant, the MVR.
Survivors include his parents; his wife, Patty Bires Cassese; sons, Joseph and Frank; his sisters, Theresa Provenzale, Carla Coristin, Gina Kiraly and Lia Stana; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jaclyn Marie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Dominic Church, 77 E. Lucius Ave., Youngstown, preceded by a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, Boardman. Friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Coitsville.
