The mother of a four-year-old boy who was killed June 15 has been arrested.
Jennifer Light was arrested on a seven-count secret indictment that includes involuntary manslaughter, endangering children, permitting child abuse, and four counts of obstructing justice.
Her live-in boyfriend, Scott Henry Walker, 33, has been charged with the murder of her son, Charles Nicholas Partin. An affidavit filed in the case claims Walker fatally punched the youngster in the stomach the night of June 14.
Bazetta police and firefighters were called to the home at 2910 N. Park Extension at 3:15 a.m. June 15 when family members said the boy wasn't breathing.
Light first told authorities that her son had been treated at a Warren hospital for drinking carpet cleaner, but later recanted that statement.
Light pleaded not guilty in front of Judge Andrew Logan, and a pretrial hearing was set for July 9. Her bond was set at $250,000.
