CANFIELD - The Mahoning County OVI Task Force has released results from the OVI checkpoint it held late last week in Jackson Township just east of Lipkey Road.
A total of 497 vehicles passed through the checkpoint, where 13 vehicles were directed into the diversion area for further investigation.
There were two two arrests for OVI, one summons for driving under suspension, one citation for a seat belt violation, one citation for improper backing and one summons for open container.
Officers also seized an unknown spice and charges are pending laboratory testing.
The Mahoning County OVI Task Force is funded by a federal grant, which is administered through the Ohio Department of Public Safety. Officials said the task force will continue to conduct coordinated saturation patrol blitzes, corridor enforcement blitzes and sobriety checkpoints.
