WARREN - A wounded man, who police were searching for Thursday night on the northwest side of the city, surfaced Friday afternoon when detectives were informed that he sought treatment at a local urgent care center.
The man identified in reports as Antonio Brown, 25, of Parkman Road, Windham, was treated for lacerations and abrasions of the head. The cause of his injuries was not reported, but Brown was told to contact police if he wished to file a complaint.
Witnesses said they saw a man they thought was wounded or injured in a scuffle outside a Tod Avenue N.W. apartment house early Thursday night. The witnesses identified the man by another name and said he claimed he was pistol-whipped before he ran off and possibly jumped into a dark SUV and left the area.
At the time, officers thought Brown may have been shot. When they tried to locate him, they only found a bloody shirt in the roadway in the 1200 block of Tod Avenue N.W.
Officers notified hospitals and treatment centers in Warren, Youngstown and Sharon, Pa., to call them if someone sought treatment.
