BENTON, Ky. - Mr. James "Jim" DeMarco, 57, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
Born Monday, Oct. 10, 1955, in Warren, he was the son of the late Patsy DeMarco Sr. and the late Madeline Colucci DeMarco.
He was a maintenance planner for Wacker Chemical in Calvert City and was a judge for the American Kennel Club. He was a breeder of German short-haired pointers and German wire-haired pointers.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was raised in the Catholic faith.
Surviving are his wife, Tammy Lee DeMarco of Benton, Ky.; three sons, Jamie DeMarco of Youngstown, Todd DeMarco of Houston, Pa., and Kenny Whitney of Benton, Ky.; two daughters, Shannon Lawrence and Mary Quigley, both of Benton, Ky.; brothers, Frank DeMarco of Stevens Point, Wis., and Patsy DeMarco Jr. of McDonald; sister, Rosemary Connley of Niles; and six grandchildren, Skylar DeMarco of Houston, Pa., Ashton Davis, Madison Lawrence, Adam Butler, Domanic Whitney and Matthew Whitney, all of Benton, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ralph DeMarco.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home in Benton, Ky. Lynn Jones will officiate.
Interment will follow the service in the Chestnut Oak Cemetery, Kuttawa, Ky.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Collier Funeral Home, 211 W. Fifth, Benton, Ky.
