VIENNA - William D. Schultz Sr., 89, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital of congestive heart failure.
Bill was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Jamestown, Pa., a son of Sylvester and Philomena Stein Schultz, and came to the area in 1935.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and belonged to the Youngstown VFW post.
Bill was a partsman for Strausbugh Dodge for 33 years and was respected for his knowledge of parts. He retired from Frito Lay in 1989.
He was Catholic by faith. He enjoyed cutting grass, planting trees and a cold beer. He was quick-witted and easygoing.
Bill married Evelyn Best on Sept. 17, 1951. Evelyn passed away on Sept. 21, 1989.
They had three sons, William D. (Bonnie) Schultz Jr. of Liberty, Jeffery (Debra) Schultz of Poland and Jay (Trudy) Schultz of Berlin Center, and one daughter, Linda Schultz and Richard of Liberty. Bill had three grandchildren, Jennifer Betts, David Schultz and Eric Schultz; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Sylvester and James.
Bill's family will receive family and friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at McClurkin Funeral Home in Girard.
There will be a funeral service at 10 a.m. Friday morning at the funeral home, where there also will be calling hours from 9 to 10 a.m.
