MENTOR - Rudolph M. Nosse, 86, passed away Friday, June 7, 2013, at Altercare of Mentor, surrounded by his family.
He was born March 19, 1927, in Bedford, and was the son of Louis and Louise Vidmar Nosse.
He had been a resident of Warren for 11 years and formerly a resident of Lake County.
A veteran, Sgt. Rudolph M. Nosse served in the U.S. Army, participating in the European Theatre during World War II.
He was a member of Jay Wilson, American Legion Post 112; VFW Post 8548 in Madison; VFW Post 7200 in West Farmington and AMVETS Post 19771 in Perry.
He was a fervent businessman. In his early days, ''Rudy'' kept busy with establishments such as Club 84 in Painesville, Avenue Tavern in Wickliffe, Red Rooster Family Restaurant in Painesville and Fisherman's Dock in Madison. He also was employed by the State of Ohio.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to go fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards, auctions and spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he loved very much.
His love, strength and sense of humor will never be forgotten.
Survivors include his children, Carol Cooper and Barbara Langner, both of California, Ruth Byrd of Warren, Michael Neville of Mississippi, Susan Neville of Seattle, Christine Nosse of Madison and Cynthia Criss of Painesville; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Lewis, Joe and John Nosse.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Spear-Mulqueeny Funeral Home, 667 Mentor Ave., Painesville, where friends will be received one hour prior to services.
