Wed. 2:22pm: ODOT recognized nationally for snow plowing

CORTLAND - For the five or so months of the year that snow is a possibility, the highway technicians that drive snow plows are the unsung superheros of the Ohio. Recognition came this morning when the Ohio Department of Transportation was given a national award for excellence in snow and ice removal for 2013.

Justin Chesnic, ODOT District 4 public information officer, stopped by the Trumbull County main garage in Cortland to drop off signs touting the department's acomplishment.

"It's a big award, virtually every state applies for it," Chesnic said.
