WARREN - Albert Roy Pierson Sr., 84, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 25, 1929, in Braxton County, W.Va., the son of the late Roy L. and Della G. Rose Pierson.
He married Arrietta Smith on Feb. 18, 1950, and they shared 63 years together.
He was employed as an artist cutter with Packard Electric for 42 years. He was an avid hunter, gardener and fisherman. Albert participated in YMCA, Indian Guides and was a Scoutmaster of Troop 25 with his son and Troop 75 with his grandsons.
Loving memories of Albert will be cherished by his wife, Arrietta A. Pierson of Warren; daughter, Patricia L. Dyson of Warren; son, Albert R. (Barbara) Pierson Jr. of Williamsfield; brother, Franklin (Wanda) Pierson of Columbiana; sister, Florence Hyer of Nicholas County, W.Va.; grandchildren, Charles (Barbie) Dyson III, Rebekah and Steve Dyson, Allyson, Megan and Ashley Pierson; and great-grandchildren, Breanna, Cody, Tyler, Jacob, McKenzie, Orion, Emma, Diamond, Ariet and Chloe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and three brothers.
Services will be held noon Saturday at Champion Christian Church, where Pastor Ken E. Hopkins Jr. will officiate. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.
Albert will be laid to rest in Sager Memorial Park in Bristolville.
