WARREN - Carolyn J. Pumphrey, 75, passed away Monday, April 22, 2013, at the Hospice House in Poland.
She was born Aug. 16, 1937, in Weston, W.Va., the daughter of the late Dana and Ruth Brown Mathews.
She married William Pumphrey on Feb. 6, 1956, and shared 57 years together.
She was employed as a realtor at Snellson and Stevens Company. Carolyn was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church, former president of Warren Raiders Squalls and St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will always have a special place in the hearts of her family; husband, William E. Pumphrey Sr. of Warren; her two sons, Steve (Marybeth) Pumphrey Sr. of Warren and Jeff (Kathy) Pumphrey of Canton, Mich.; a daughter, Trish (Donnie) Fatobene of Cortland; two brothers, William (Sharibele) Mathews and Carl (Barbara) Mathews Sr., both of Warren; a sister, Patty (Robert) Pumphrey of Cortland; grandchildren, Melissa, Steve Jr., Kaz, Stephanie, Andrew, Brooke, Zak, Brandon and Bradley, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William E. Pumphrey Jr.; and two brothers.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Rev. Andrew Deskevich will officiate. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Carolyn will be laid to rest in Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
