WARREN - Alan Andrew Jenyk, 63, of Warren, went to his heavenly home to join his wife, Debbie, on Sunday morning, April 14, 2013, at Hospice House in Poland with his sister Jane by his side. He died following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born July 11, 1949, in Warren, the son of the late Andrew Jenyk and Betty Coursen Teagarden.
Alan was a 1967 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and attended Kent State University. He worked at Warren General Hospital as an IV technician for 21 years and retired in 2012 from St. Joseph Health Center's medical records after more than 45 years with the hospitals.
Alan was of the Catholic faith, enjoyed floral designing and was an avid movie buff. He enjoyed watching the TV Land channel, especially "Everybody Loves Raymond."
His wife, Deborah Lee Sprague Jenyk, whom he married Dec. 5, 1981, preceded him in death in 1987.
He is survived by one sister, Jane (Tom) Kirin of Champion; one brother, Robert (Shelley) Teagarden of Warren; his mother-in-law, Louwean Sprague of Bazetta; a brother-in-law, Tim (Lori) Sprague of Bazetta; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Pippi.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lane Family Funeral Homes, Roberts-Clark Chapel, and also one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Bill Sprague will officiate.
Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery in Cortland.
