Freshman Justin Humphrey drove in the winning runs for Newton Falls with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Tigers a 4-3 victory over Champion. Humphrey hit a bases-loaded line drive to left field, and the ball popped out of the left fielder's glove on a diving attempt, allowing two runs to score in the All-American Conference, National Division victory.
Jaden Walton, also a freshman, got the win for Newton Falls (3-2, 2-0) as he struck out four in the final four innings.
Grand Valley's Nate Weinger outdueled Kevin Jones of Maplewood in a 1-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference victory. Weinger struck out eight and walked two. The Mustangs scored the winning run on a ground out in the fifth inning.
Nate Clark hit a three-run homer for Jackson-Milton (5-2, 3-1) in its 16-4 Inter Tri-County League victory, Upper Tier victory over Lisbon. Clark also had two hits and struck out 10 in five innings (the game was called due to the mercy rule in the fifth).
Liberty's Bobby Stanovcak limited Lakeview to one run over seven innings in a 3-1 All-American Conference, National Division victory. The Leopards (4-0, 2-0) scored three runs in the first inning against David LeMasters of Lakeview (1-4, 0-2). LeMasters struck out 10 in the loss.
Sam Donko struck out 10 in a 1-0 complete-game shutout of rival Cardinal Mooney (3-2). The Irish (5-0) scored in the top of the second after Matt Lacko doubled and Ryan Strollo singled him home.
Southington's John Mazzola allowed one run in four-plus innings as the Wildcats beat Lordstown, 3-1, in a Northeastern Athletic Conference matchup. Cody Smith hit a two-run single to give Southington (3-2, 1-1) the lead for good in the fourth inning. Lordstown fell to 0-3, 0-1.
Tom Ciccolelli's walk-off single to score Nick Luchansky gave Canfield the 5-4 victory over Howland. The hit was Ciccolelli's second of the night.
The Cards were down 4-2 entering the sixth, but RBI singles by Derek Turocy and Carter Rhoads tied the score.
McDonald's Mike Raschilla had two hits, including a two-run home run, and Mike Schuller added another two hits including a triple giving the Blue Devils the 12-2 win over Southern.
