WARREN - Lorenzo Giovanni "Larry D" DiAntonio, 79, who came to live in Warren 50 years ago, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital.
He was born Feb. 28, 1934, in Mingo Junction, the son of Giovanni "John" DiAntonio and Elizabeth Gryzsdashko DiAntonio.
Larry was employed as a foreman at Copperweld Steel for 32 years.
He was a member of the Amerital Club, Central Social Club, Eagles Club, NAUS Club, Moose Club, and drummer for Sounds of Country. He also was an avid fisherman and ran a chartered fishing boat on Lake Erie. Larry was a member of the VFW and was a strong supporter of our troops and veterans. He was especially proud of his son Carl, who is a U.S. Marine.
Larry is survived by his son, Carl DiAntonio (fiancee Erika Adamski) of Pittsburgh and formerly of Southington; daughters, Carol Speed of Athena, Ore., and Dianna DiAntonio of Yakima, Wash.; two sisters, Bernadette DiAntonio of Tulsa, Okla., and Theresa Rogers of Norwalk; life companion, "His Sweetie Briget" Elizabeth Brahler of Mineral Ridge, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Vivian Buchmelter; and brother, Rudolph DiAntonio.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where the Rev. Andrew Deskevich will officiate.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
