GIRARD - Dennis Joseph "D.J." Vari, 35, after a 3-and-a-half year battle with cancer, passed away Wednesday morning, March 20, 2013, at home with his loving family by his side.
D.J. was born Jan. 18, 1978, to his loving parents, Dennis L. and Patricia Kraysets Vari, in Girard. He attended St. Rose Elementary and Ursuline High School, where he participated on both the baseball and basketball teams.
Upon graduation from high school, he attended Miami of Ohio University and was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He graduated from Miami with majors in both accounting and finance.

He was with American Express Financial, training as an account executive before being accepted to Akron University School of Law. He graduated from Akron Law in 2005 and went to St. Louis, Mo., where he worked as a tax accountant, financial planner and later as an enrolled agent. Upon becoming ill, he returned to the area and maintained an office in Liberty.
He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He leaves behind his beloved parents and his loving family and friends who were so supportive in his time of need.
The family wishes any contributions be sent to either the Taussig Cancer Center Care of Cleveland Clinic, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44195, or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512, in his memory.
