Madeline M. Ferrante-Eastep 1924-2013

NILES - Madeline Marie Ferrante-Eastep, 88, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, following a long illness.

She was born Sept. 21, 1924, in Akron, the daughter of Phillip and Celestina Justino Stillo.

A graduate of Akron North High School, she was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish (St. James Church) and its Altar and Rosary Society and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed sewing and was a wonderful seamstress. Years ago, she was a Girl Scout leader. While living in Winter Park, Fla., she was an active volunteer in the local hospital auxiliary.

Madeline is survived by four children, Madeline Ferrante, with whom she made her home, Louis J. (Linda) Ferrante of Minerva, Toni Ellen (Larry) Norton of Winter Park, Fla., and Dr. Joseph D. (Beth) Ferrante of Strongsville; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cosma M. Frederick-Ryan of Mineral Ridge and Anne (Victor) Rivera of Kent; and a brother, Dominic (Donna) Stillo of Akron.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 47 years, Tony C. Ferrante, who died in 1990; her second husband, Robert Eastep, who died in 1999; an infant son, Anthony Ferrante; two brothers, Joseph and Samuel Stillo; and two sisters, Eleanor DeRosa and Josephine Scarpitti.

Service of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home, where family and friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m.
