WINDHAM - Joanne C. Clark, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2013.
She was born May 19, 1934, in Windham, the daughter of Newman and Olive Smith Chaffee.
Joanne was an active member of Windham United Methodist Church, Friday Club, United Methodist Women's Group and the choir. She was known as Windham's "Cake Lady." Joanne was a devoted wife who loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Donald of Windham; a son, Harold of Windham; daughters, Anna Marie (Don) Evans of Rootstown and Nita (Dave) Apthorpe of Windham; brother, a Dr. Arthur (JoAnn) Chaffee of Mexico; grandchildren, Carrie (Todd) Barcikowski, Kristin (Eric) Craft, Rebecca Evans, Sarita (Ryan) Slone, Cody Apthorpe and Cali Apthorpe; great-grandchildren, Kannon, Julianna, Erick and Kylie; and several nieces and nephews.
A special "thank you" to Janice and Kelly for their compassion and tender care.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. today and continue until the funeral service at 6 p.m. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. The family will be present from 3 to 6 p.m.
Private burial will be in Windham Township Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions be made in Joanne's name to Windham United Methodist Church, 9051 N. Main St., Windham, OH 44288, or to Robinson Memorial Hospital Hospice, 6693 N. Chestnut St., Suite 11A, Ravenna, OH 44266.
