Five hospitalized
in two-vehicle crash
FOWLER - Five people were taken to Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren after two pickup trucks collided on King Graves Road and state Route 193 about 6 p.m. Sunday.
A white 2004 GMC Sierra pickup truck heading east on Kings Graves failed to yield to a red 1999 Dodge RAM pickup truck heading north on Route 193, according to Fowler police Officer Chuck Lohry.
The drivers involved were David Lahner, 45, of Ashtabula, and Stephen Holliday, 25, of Garrettsville.
Lohry said it is unclear if the driver of the white pickup was running the stop sign or not. He said the injuries sustained were not critical.
Both Fowler and Vienna police and fire departments responded to the accident.
Names and conditions of the passengers were not available late Sunday.
Family safe after Howland blaze
HOWLAND - A family is safe after firefighters put out a blaze in their home at 1739 North River Road on Sunday morning.
Fire departments from Howland and Bazetta appeared at the scene where flames were visible from the house. Everyone inside made it out safe, but according to Howland police the home is likely a total loss. The fire was possibly caused by a laundry machine.

Vienna man jailed following hit-skip
NILES - The Warren Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-skip injury crash involving a city police officer that occurred here about 1 a.m. Sunday.
Matthew Stein, 20, of Vienna, was traveling westbound on McKees Lane in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala when he went off the right side of the road and struck a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria that was legally parked in a private business' driveway, according to the patrol.
Officer Daniel Myers, 33, from Niles - who was in the Ford - was taken to St. Joseph Health Center in Warren with non-life threatening injuries.
After the collision, Stein left the scene and was stopped by city police several miles from the crash location, the patrol states.
Stein received minor injuries. He was taken to the Trumbull County Jail on charges of operating a vehicle under the influence, underage alcohol consumption, and hit-skip leaving the scene of an accident.
