Program to discuss ‘Backyard Birds’

BIRDS OF THE BACKYARD: The Cortland Library Branch, 578 Lakeview Drive, will hold a "Backyard Birds" program at 11 a.m. Friday. Amy Reeher, watershed coordinator for the Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District, will explain how to attract birds and other wildlife to the backyard.

GROUP TO MEET: Trumbull for Positive Change will meet at 6 p.m. today at the Local IUE CWA 717 Union Hall, 2950 Sferra Drive, Warren. All members are asked to attend.

NAACP SETS MEETING: The NAACP Warren-Trumbull Branch will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday at the ACOP Center, 2051 Niles Road, Warren. For information, call 330-469-3247.

CELEBRATION SET: Victory Christian Center, 4257 Tod Ave. N.W., Warren, will hold an Easter celebration from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be gospel ministry by Christian entertainer John Louis, who will present juggling, comedy and illusions. There will be an Easter egg hunt for prschoolers to sixth grade.

CLEANUP AT CEMETERY: Pineview Memorial Park, 4049 Youngstown Road, Warren, will hold spring cleanup beginning Friday. All winter decorations or flowers will be removed in preparation for spring maintenance. Anyone wishing to retrieve them should do so by Friday. Any remaining items will be discarded.

Spring donations must be placed in a cemetery approved permanent vase only and once cleanup has been completed. Potted plants, ground plantings, and ground decorations. Call 330-369-3186 for information.

COMEDY EVENT: The Warren Rotary Club will present "Comedy Central" at 7:30 p.m. Friday at DiLucia's Banquet Center in Warren. The event will feature comedy magician Eric Thompson and ventriloquist Ken Groves. Cost is $30 and includes dinner and show. For tickets, call Mike at 330-373-0228 or Nick at 330-369-7500.

3-D CLASS OFFERED: The Oh Wow! Roger and Gloria Jones Children's Center for Science and Technology, 11 W. Federal St., Youngstown will hold a "Science for 3-D" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday as participants experience with the science of 3-D. Purchase a kit from the desk at $3. The program is for for fourth grade and older.

A Pedometer Day will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. March 19 and 21, during which participants can find out how much they walk. The event is free.
