CORTLAND - Doris Elva Scheidegger, 90, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Concord Care Center in Hartford.
She was born Jan. 28, 1923, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late William S. and Veda M. Waggaman Cole.
Mrs. Scheidegger was a retired secretary of Currie Elementary School, Mathews School District, retiring after 20 years of service. Doris loved her roses and she liked to needlepoint and read.

Those that survive are her brother, William R. Cole of Mecca, and several nieces and nephews.
Other than her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Howard D. Scheidegger, on Sept. 13, 2012 - they were united in marriage on Aug. 15, 1948; and two siblings, Helen Luoma and Edward S. Cole.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shafer-Winans Funeral Chapel, a Lane Family Funeral Home, where Pastor Joel Dickson will celebrate Doris' life. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Scheidegger will be laid to rest next to her husband in Dugan Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Concord Care Center in Hartford for their kind and compassionate care they gave to their beloved aunt.
