LIBERTY - Police are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting in which an 18-year-old Struthers man was wounded outside a Belmont Avenue club.
According to reports, Quentin Boone of Elm Street was transported to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment.
An update on his condition was not available. When reached by a Tribune Chronicle reporter by telephone on Monday, a woman who identified herself as Boone's sister declined to provide any information about his condition or the extent of his injury.
Township police said they were called around 4:30 a.m. to the parking lot of Club Remix, 3200 Belmont Ave., where they found Boone with a gunshot wound. They said they located multiple shell casings near him and found that a nearby vehicle appeared to have been struck by bullet fragments.
Officers spoke with many patrons of the nightclub but did not receive any helpful information, according to a police report.
Club manager Lamar McGary, 34, of Youngstown, told police that the club had been rented out to Bryant Spence, 23, of Youngstown. The report also stated that McGary provided police with a guest list and rental contract for the event.
Police did not say whether they had any suspects.
