WARREN - What a difference a letter makes.
Officials at the YMCA of Warren said there has been some confusion about the swimming pool situation recently.
"Many people have heard of the YWCA's pool being taken out and are confusing the two," said YMCA Executive Director Rich Denamen. "We are two separate locations and have two swimming pools available."
Paulette Edington, youth programs director, said the YMCA is a separate entity from the YWCA of Warren, which closed its pool while the building is being remodeled.
"We have had a lot of new members at the YMCA lately who are amazed when we let them know that we have not just one but two swimming pools," she said.
Edington said swim lessons are available for babies through adults.
"We tell people it is never too late to take swim lessons," Edington said.
Edington said a popular swim class is You and Me Baby, which is for babies and their moms - or in many cases dads or even grandparents.
"The program is for anyone who takes the time to get the babies used to the water," she said.
Pat King, a swim instructor, said she has had swimmers as young as six months to those in their 70s, and finds once they get in the water they enjoy learning to swim.
Edington said all swim classes are taught in the warmer pool which is smaller and more private with participants not likely to be as overwhelmed by the larger-size pool which is viewable from the hallway.
Edington said free swim clinics for children will be offered when Warren City Schools has their spring break around Easter.
