WARREN - A teenage couple is being held in county jail after police here said the young man abducted family members at gunpoint late Friday and then hid inside a home on Belmont Street N.W. where the young woman tried to convince police no one was inside.

"She insisted no one was in her house. We finally told her that a witness saw him run inside and if we find him in there, she was going to jail," said Lt. Rob Massucci, who was in charge of midnight shift when officer surrounded the Belmont house.

Breya Emerson, 19, who lives at 354 Belmont St. N.W., faces charges of obstructing justice and remains in Trumbull County Jail.

Taylor Ervin-Williams, also in jail, faces charges of abduction, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and failure to comply with the order or signal of police.

At the end of afternoon shift that got a call of an abduction on Charles Avenue S.E.

A gunman, who police later identified as Ervin-Williams, 19, 354 Belmont St. N.W., reportedly entered the home wearing a bandanna or hoodie and held a gun on a woman and her 19-year-old son who was sleeping on the couch. Two younger kids were sleeping elsewhere in the house.

Massucci said the 19-year-old son and his mother were forced to drive Ervin-Williams to an ATM machine at the intersection of West Market Street and Todd Avenue N.W. about 10:45 p.m.

After the gunman got about $300 from the victim's account and another $40 in cash they had, he fled in their car. That's when the mother and son called police, fearing that the gunman was headed back to their Charles Avenue home where the youngsters were still asleep.
